Johann Sebastian Bach

A live performance by Lenora Ford Brown presented in 1985 at the University of Utah as a Tricentennial Bach concert celebrating the 300th birthday of J. S. Bach. These partitas, composed in the French and German styles, have been called the “Rock Music” of Bach’s time. They were the first works Bach published and yet possibly his most difficult to play. The objective when performing the partitas is to make them relaxed, happy and joyful. Despite the rhythmic and technical challenges for the performer, the partitas are easy and fun for the listener.
